Décortech Firesafe MDF meets a Group 1s fire rating. Our Firesafe MDF has been tested in accordance with ISO 5660 Parts 1 and 2, with the Group Classification determined in accordance with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC) Verification Method C/VM2 Appendix A.
It is an excellent substrate that can be combined with either a real timber veneer to add natural warmth and elegance to any space or with Décortech factory applied UV satin paint for a high quality finish that can be matched to suit any interior.
Décortech Firesafe MDF allows timber panels to be used in spaces that they previously could not be due to fire requirements and provides a cost effective fire rated solution. It is ideal to use when the aesthetic qualities of wood or a high quality paint finish are desired with the safety of a fire retardant solution. Suitable applications include wall and ceiling linings and acoustic panels especially for schools, hospitals, commercial and public buildings, display panels and partition screens.
Décortech Firesafe MDF is environmentally friendly and produced under an environmental management system that is certified to IS0-14001 and is available FSC Certified. Wood veneers are sourced from sustainable and renewable forests and EC, FSC and COC veneers can be provided on request.
Available either non perforated or in a full range of stylish acoustic perforations both standard and fully customised, Décortech panels can be used to create perfect acoustic performance. Our panels come prefinished which prevents the need for additional onsite trades after installation reducing potential onsite issues such as spills, overspray or damage.

Décortech veneered MDF offers a wide variety of natural wood veneers. Real Timber Veneer is ideal to specify for the natural and organic warmth it can bring to a space, however, all aspects of that natural character need to be taken into account during the initial concept stages.
Because it is an organic material, colour variation is inherent in Real Timber Veneer even within the same batch. In some applications this can be highly desirable. For some designs, however, an architect may want to minimize colour variation.
Species, grain, cut and finish can all affect the perceived variation of Real Timber Veneer. When communicating with Décortech about your project, make sure to clarify colour expectations. We can help you make decisions early to ensure you get the finished look you expect. Décortech will work closely with you throughout your project and when selecting the veneer to minimise or maximise variation depending on your requirements.
Décortech Firesafe MDF with Real Timber Veneer is enhanced by our Décortech factory applied satin finish for a premium result every time.
