MIT Manukau & Transport Interchange.

Warren & Mahoney

Blair Johnston, Principal and Executive Director of Warren & Mahoney Auckland, worked closely with Décortech to design a custom perforation for the MIT Manukau & Transport Interchange project to bring their own vision to life while meeting the acoustic requirements needed in such a large space.  The Décortech panels were a main interior feature and the custom pattern designed for MIT brings the architects unique vision into the building.  Décortech expertise was able to ensure the design stayed within the budget for the project ensuring Blair’s vision could come to life.

Décortech has a proven track record of being able to deliver the big projects and MIT was no exception with over 2500 Décortech panels manufactured for the project.  Even with this large number of panels we know quality is paramount at all times and worked hard to ensure all panels met the high standard we require within the tight project timeframes.

The finished project is a stunning interior space that meets the needs of the client as well as the decorative, acoustic and fire retardant requirements.  The Southland Maple Beech Veneer brings warmth into the large space and well as form and function.

“We worked collaboratively with Décortech to develop a bespoke perforation pattern within standard production parameters – I was impressed with their ability to respond to our initial brief and ultimately with the built realisation of a simple idea.”
