As a prominent feature of the atrium, the custom Décortech ceiling is inspired by the structure of a radiata pine genome, with the timber battens and plywood panels depicting the barcoding effect from the plant DNA. Within an open working and public environment, the atrium ceiling also needed to achieve a lot in terms of acoustics and fire retardancy. “With Décortech, we were able to arrive at a solution that covered both of these aspects comfortably.”
